The Trump Organization’s merchandise website has launched a new hat with the slogan “TRUMP 2028.” This product is a twist on the former president’s iconic “Make America Great Again” cap. The release follows Trump’s recent remarks teasing the possibility of a third presidential run.
The “TRUMP 2028” hat appeared for sale on the site Thursday, priced at $50. The website proudly notes that the hats are “Made in America.”
Earlier this year, Trump addressed speculation about a third term during a phone call with NBC News. He insisted he was “not joking” about the idea. However, he also stated, “It is far too early to think about it.”
When asked if he had been presented with plans to bypass the 22nd Amendment and run again, Trump revealed, “There are methods which you could do it.” One suggestion involved Vice President J.D. Vance running at the top of the 2028 ticket, with Trump as his running mate. After the election, Trump could potentially assume the Oval Office.
During a press briefing on Air Force One, Trump downplayed his earlier comments. “I don’t even want to talk about it,” he said. “I’ve had more people say, ‘Please run again,’ but we have a long way to go before we even think about that.”
Despite the teasing, Trump’s potential third term faces legal challenges. The Constitution’s 22nd Amendment bars any president from serving more than two terms. Legal experts have stated that an attempt to win another term would violate this provision.

David Schultz, a constitutional law expert from Hamline University, noted, “Trump may not want to rule out a third term, but the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution does.” The amendment explicitly states, “No person shall be elected to the office of the president more than twice.”
Following the hat’s release, Democrats quickly responded, suggesting that it hints at Trump’s fourth presidential run.
